Privacy Policy
Effective October 19, 2026
Sonnus is a cloud contact center: businesses use it to answer and place calls, send and receive texts, and chat with their customers. This policy says what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers app.sonnus.cloud and www.sonnus.cloud.
Who this is about
- Account holders: the people who sign in to Sonnus (owners, administrators, supervisors, agents).
- Our customers' callers and contacts: people who call, text or chat with a business that uses Sonnus. For their information, the business is in charge of it and we handle it on the business's behalf and under its instructions. Questions about it are best sent to that business.
- Website visitors: people who visit www.sonnus.cloud or send us a message from it.
What we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash), time zone, preferences, and the contact centers and organizations you belong to.
- Sign-in with Google or Microsoft: if you choose to sign in this way, we receive your name, email address and that provider's identifier for you, and use them only to create and sign in to your Sonnus account. We do not receive your password for that provider, and we do not ask for access to your mail, files, contacts or calendar.
- Communications: call details (numbers, times, durations, routing, outcomes), call recordings and voicemail where the business has turned them on, text messages, chat transcripts, and notes and dispositions agents add.
- Contacts and lists that a business uploads or creates, such as names and phone numbers for campaigns, and do-not-call lists.
- Billing: a business's balance, usage and invoices. Card and bank details are entered with and kept by our payment processor, Stripe; we see only things like the card's brand and last four digits.
- Technical information: IP addresses, browser type and activity logs, used to keep the service secure and working.
- Messages you send us through the contact or feedback forms.
How we use it
- To provide the service: routing and connecting calls, texts and chats, showing them to agents, reporting.
- To sign you in and keep accounts secure.
- To bill for usage.
- To send email the service needs to send (password resets, invitations, voicemail notices).
- To answer your questions and improve Sonnus.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run Sonnus, each for its part of the service:
- Telephone carriers (SignalWire, Telnyx), which carry calls and texts and, when a business uses an AI persona, process that call's audio.
- Stripe, for payments.
- Amazon Web Services, for sending email.
- DigitalOcean, where the service and its data are hosted, in the United States.
- Cloudflare, which serves our website.
- Google and Microsoft, only when you choose to sign in with them.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and others. If Sonnus is ever sold or merged, this information would pass to the new owner under this policy.
Cookies
We use cookies only to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as the theme) and protect forms from forgery. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Account information is kept while the account exists. Communications, recordings and contacts are kept as long as the business that owns them keeps them, or until it deletes them or closes its account. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
We may delete or archive older communications, recordings and logs sooner for technical or operational reasons, such as managing storage, but never sooner than a business has asked us to keep them for its own records or legal obligations.
Security
Connections are encrypted, passwords are hashed, each business's data is kept separate from every other's, and access within a business follows the roles it assigns. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell affected people of a breach as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change your account information on your account page. You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account; depending on where you live you may have further rights, and we will honor them. If you are a caller or contact of a business that uses Sonnus, please send your request to that business; we will help it respond.
Children
Sonnus is a business service and not meant for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will let account holders know.
